A short look at CoeLux, an artificial skylight that recreates the scattering process that makes the sky look blue, producing a convincing illusion of distant sun and depth.

HN points to it as a demonstration of artificial daylight, especially for windowless or underground rooms, and to date the technology to 2014.

If anybody wants to see a cool artificial light that mimics natural light well take a look at coelux: ▶ this video It is imperfect (costs too much) but it'll give a good idea of why I think heliostat/optic cable/natural light is something more people need in their lives.

This is not new. See this video from 2014: ▶ this video This light is sold by link . They might also hold the patents on this technology.

They are using these underground to help simulate the true daylight experience. Basically a smart led version of a traditional roof sunlight: ▶ this video

In this video ( ▶ this video ) they talk about the usage for underground buildings. It could be for underground buildings what the lift is for high buildings (eg make it practical). This was on Product Hunt a while ago: link
