Nicholas Zakas of Yahoo discusses architecture for large, modular JavaScript web applications. He lays out the theory behind building front ends that scale in complexity.

Recommended as a framework-agnostic, common-sense guide to structuring large front-end applications.

I watched this old talk from the YUI Library recently. It's framework-agnostic and not heavy on code, just a lot of common sense that might not be obvious for some. Nicholas Zakas: Scalable JavaScript Application Architecture ▶ this video

I've also successfully implemented Zakas' [1] approach after watching his presentation "Scalable Javascript Application Architecture" [2] and abandoning Backbone.Aura [3]. Aura theoretically implements this, but in practice we found that it made some assumptions that were incompatible with our needs. Consequently, we rolled our own implementation. This video: ▶ this video (which was also posted by politician) was very useful in explaining the theory. I also made some changes to it, but offhand I can't remember what they were. I think it was to do with the separation of starting vs initialising modules (parts of a page).

The 'previous work' link redirected me to a generic search results page ( link ) , I believe this could be the talk by Nicholas Zakas ▶ this video but if anyone can confirm, that would be nice.
