A two-minute clip from The Wire in which characters speculate about who invented Chicken McNuggets.

HN uses it as a joke reference in threads about accidental inventors and automating jobs.

The next thing you should do is watch this scene from HBO's "The Wire" and think about what it means for you: ▶ this video

> So Montañez assembled a small team of family members and friends, went to the test markets, and bought every bag of Hot Cheetos he could find. Well, that would certainly make them sell better, but doesn't exactly make it an accurate test? I think I've heard of other companies doing this, although usually it's to inflate revenue and growth numbers pitching to investors or space in stores. I want to say some company did this recently but I can't remember exactly who. But don't get me wrong, I love me some flaming hot cheetos and it's a great feeling story. Although I also remember the Wire: ▶ this video

Great story. When I read the headline, I immediately thought of D'Angelo Barksdale's cynical speculation about the inventor of Chicken McNuggets being a "just some sad ass down in the basement of McDonalds, thinking up some shit to make some money for the real players": ▶ this video
