Jim Pavloff rebuilds The Prodigy's 'Voodoo People' in Ableton from its listed samples. The video shows how the track is assembled and how close a handmade reconstruction can sound.

Used as an example of prototyping music and, in a Copilot copyright thread, of a handmade reconstruction that sounds like the original.

There are legendary Prodigy tracks reconstructions by Jim Pavloff, see: 1. "Smack my bitch up" link 2. "Voodoo people" ▶ this video Those pieces sound exactly the same as the original, but it does not violate copyright because they've been produced by hand. Mind blowing!

A bit on a same note (pun intended), Jim Pavloff has uploaded to YouTube some cool videos, where he re-creates some of the tunes by The Prodigy based on the listed samples, e.g. Voodoo People ( ▶ this video ) and Firestarter ( link )

Thanks for commenting. Ableton Live is undoubtedly a great software. AFAIK it's not suited for rapid prototyping. Here is some nice stuff. Just in case somebody haven't seen it yet. Making of "The Prodigy - Voodoo People" in Ableton by Jim Pavloff ▶ this video
