Red Bull and the Dutch Drone Gods follow Max Verstappen's RB20 F1 car around Silverstone in a single FPV shot using a custom drone that accelerates to 300 km/h in about four seconds. The video also covers the year of development behind the drone.
Cited in discussions of drone performance and of how drone footage conveys the real speed of an F1 car.

I thought F1 was supposed to look a lot faster in person. The cars going at 300kmph don't look so fast on a screen because the camera stabilisation. Someone who makes drones on YouTube collaborated with RedBull to shoot Max Verstappen with a drone at those speeds. And Max was impressed by the perception of speed from the drone footage compared to regular TV broadcast Link to YouTube video: ▶ this video
It's interesting to look at the design of FPV racing drones today: ▶ this video When they fly, they basically turn horizontal, relying on body lift + vectored thrust. They're small enough, with high enough power/weight ratios, that that's enough. Apparently there's no need for a tilt-rotor, because the whole airplane becomes a tilt-rotor. Similar principal as cruise missiles, which have short stubby wings to augment body lift + vectored thrust. When the airframe gets light enough, you don't need much in the way of wings.
I was watching a video about Red Bull's new drone that can keep up with a F1 car and the whole time I kept getting Slaughterbot vibes. Zero to 185mph in 4 seconds with a top speed of 215mph, relatively cheap components, multiple cameras, and decent onboard computing power. I am not looking forward to the future of warfare. ▶ this video link
