interview · general · evergreen · 2015–2022 on HN
Numberphile interviews Cliff Stoll about Klein bottles, the one-sided surfaces with no inside or outside. Stoll explains them with characteristic enthusiasm and shows off his collection.
HN likes it for Cliff Stoll's infectious passion for topology, and it gets linked in threads about him and about Mobius strips.

If anyone is talking about Mobius Strips then Cliff Stoll MUST be mentioned. This guys passion for Mobius Strips is infectious. ▶ this video Also he was one of the first system admins to actually catch a hacker who was using his server in Germany in 1989. link
Interesting, didn’t realize that’s Cliff. - Related Numberphile: ▶ this video - Direct link to his Klein bottle website: link
Yes, in the video I'm talking about ▶ this video he says that a bootle has an edge (~3'40). A sphere does not have an "inner surface", it has just one surface. So does a potato. If you go from sphere to potato to bowl, when does an edge appear and does it have to appear, is my question.
