Hitler uses git

comedy · general · 2013–2022 on HN
A short parody clip in the 'Hitler learns about...' meme format, in which Hitler rants about git's confusing commands. It riffs on git's complexity and the Linus Torvalds and Facebook angle.
Cited as a joke about git's notoriously esoteric interface, usually in threads about git or other Hitler-parody videos.

But I heard Linus "wrote git as a joke [on] a weekend coding binge, jacked up on blow in Vegas." ▶ this video
It's a long-running meme to use this movie clip and subtitle it in different ways. Some do a better job than others. My personal favorite is Hitler uses Git[1]. [1]: ▶ this video
There's another post on the frontpage saying to NOT use rebase. This video comes to mind: ▶ this video Git is fast, but it's a clusterfuck of weird command calls and esoteric flags. I kind of miss Mercurial in this regard, but I had to make the switch due to the popularity of Github. Having open source projects is a very nice way to show potential employers that you are a good asset.
