A short spoof of a nature documentary shows spiders building webs after being given various drugs. It is an early internet comedy classic.

HN mentions it almost only as a joke or nostalgic reference when spiders and drugs come up.

Remember the one where they experimented with giving spiders psychoactive drugs and observe the patterns of their webs? Quite fascinating, esp the cocaine experiment ▶ this video

If you mean this video it's actually a spoof of very well known nature series the music is classic from the series and most all Canadians know it. Often shown on TV between shows mostly or maybe only on CBC channels. ▶ this video
