I had no idea this was real. Fascinating. I'm curious: anyone plugged into the scene know if it's organic or if it was created as a marketing thing by Microsoft? Obligatory Krazam sketch: ▶ this video
That makes me think of these two great parody videos from ~5 years back, of Excel using e-sport tropes, introduced but a (fictional) livestreaming competitor nicknamed Makro. "Microsoft Excel stream highlights" ▶ this video "XLOOKUP" link
The way I keep my Excel skills up to scratch is by staying updated with the Pro Excel scene. One method I employ is watching Krazam as he goes through the release notes. You can find his videos at: ▶ this video
> I wish I could believe that Microsoft appreciates Excel that much Yeah, I don't think they really appreciate the Excel pro scene: ▶ this video
A while ago I watched a couple of videos by Krazam [0][1] on competitive Excel. Thought it was just a sketch, didn't realize it was actually a thing. [0] link [1] ▶ this video
Yes, but when are they fixing the regression in character spacing when mixing unicode and non-unicode? ▶ this video
> Excel’s boundless rectangles yield themselves to my whim as I sort columns and freeze rows like a rational demigod. I wonder if the author is a "top sheethead," (part of the pro excel scene)? The article doesn't offer an opinion on the controversial Chinese localization fix of 2019[1] for example. [1] ▶ this video
But the spreadsheet abstraction really works like a charm, it gives the flexibility and the power to do a lot. On a humorous side note ... competitive excel ▶ this video
Somewhat tangential (more Excel related) but had to put these videos by Krazam somewhere at some point on HN. Enjoy! MAKRO | Microsoft Excel Stream Highlights 3/19 ▶ this video MAKRO | XLOOKUP: META BREAKER? | Microsoft Excel Stream Highlights 10/19 link
