A short clip, titled Orwell Comes to America, on reasoning and perception. One HN user links it repeatedly as the science showing human minds are bad at reasoning and do not see reality as it is.

Almost entirely one commenter's repeated citation as evidence on unconscious thinking and flawed reasoning.

First realize what is going on and why, watch the science video, then manufacturing consent then the rest. The elites fear political awakening, thats why all this is happening. First, our brains are much worse at reality and thinking than thought. Science on reasoning: ▶ this video The (mass surveillance) by the NSA and abuse by law enforcement is just more part and parcel of state suppression of dissent against corporate interests. They're worried that the more people are going to wake up and corporate centers like the US and canada may be among those who also awaken. See this vid with Zbigniew Brzezinski, former United States National Security Advisor. link Brezinski at a press conference link The real news: link link link link Protectionism for the rich and big business by state intervention, radical market interference. link Wikileaks link Manufacturing consent: link link The Citibank memo link link link US distribution of wealth link link The Centre for Investigative Journalism link Some history on US imperialism by us corporations. link From war is a racket: "I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil intersts in 1914. "Empires are not monolithic." First see the science on reasoning, your brain is not the reasoning god you think it is: ▶ this video Which is meaningless, what is the evidence of the US imposing laws on countries that are not of the US? AKA are corporations getting their way? If we go by evidence, there is no democracy and their power is quite monolithic. Consider that these laws have been growing in power for 200 years almost, so don't buy the 'the creators are hurting and the evil pirates are stealing' argument, the public domain is completely destroyed (aka freedom to own, modify, repair software, own and update video games, etc). AKA ownership is being taken away completely from you in a one sided deal where they have total control. link Crisis of democracy link

I wonder how much self deception exists in western society when the evidence suggests you live in a lawless oligarchy, one example from endless copyright extension. link But first HN, you can be told the facts and the figures and you won't reason to the right conclusion see the science: ▶ this video Does the upper class and the business community believe in Free markets? link IMF subsidies for the rich and their corporations link subsidies So looking at all that free cash from the state, did the upper class really "earn" all that cash or could it be they own the government and can just rubber stamp whatever they like because the average HN poster and person on our planet is illiterate and well indoctrinated?

>This is my biggest pet peeve with news in general. Why does a high school paper have more rigor in terms of citations than the average post from a major news organization? Because news is not meant to inform, it's meant to indoctrinate and keep you passively under the thumb of the rich. link >It makes digesting political news all but impossible. The question is do you know the upper classes know your brain doesn't see the world as it is, you can be told the facts and not reason to the right conclusion? ▶ this video
