"The Keep America Beautiful narrow focus on litter, and indeed construction of the modern concept of litter, is seen as an attempt to divert responsibility from industries that manufacture and sell disposable products to the consumer that improperly disposes of the related non-returnable wrappers, filters, and beverage containers.[2]" link also more entertaining media ▶ this video

Pick one, they're all just as depressing as the next. * Adam Ruins Everything - The Corporate Conspiracy to Blame You for Their Trash - YouTube || ▶ this video * Penn & Teller - Recycling - YouTube || link * Debunking recycling paper (P&T segment) - YouTube || link * The shocking scale of our waste - and the myth of recycling | Irene Rompa | TEDxMidAtlantic - YouTube || link
You know that famous Indian crying from litter on the highway campaign? It was funded by the packaging industry. It was part of a propaganda campaign (a.k.a public relations) by packaging company to place the blame on litter and non-reusable packaging on the consumer instead of the industry. ▶ this video
Agreed but like maybe companies shouldn't produce waste packaging, etc. This sounds an awful lot like "blame the litter bugs". Adam Ruins Everything - The Corporate Conspiracy to Blame You for Their Trash: ▶ this video
