A Louis C.K. bit from a Conan O'Brien appearance about airplane Wi-Fi and how quickly people feel entitled to new technology.

HN invokes it as a joke whenever someone complains about a miraculous technology not working perfectly.

I know this isn't going to be a popular take, but here goes anyway... The complaints that Anthropic are routing your requests to a different model reminds me of an old Louis CK bit about airplane wifi. Clearly Anthropic was too aggressive with whatever guardrails they put in, but the response seems overly entitled to a model people didn't even know existed not that long ago. ▶ this video

> Appreciating the magic of living in a thriving economy (true for most of the world for decades now) is partly attitude. Yes. Louis CK did a bit ~15 years back about someone throwing a tantrum on a plane when the (then brand new tech) WiFi broke down. ▶ this video

Reminds me of this Louis CK joke: I was on an airplane and there was high-speed Internet on the airplane. That's the newest thing that I know exists. And I'm sitting on the plane and they go, open up your laptop, you can go on the Internet. And it's fast, and I'm watching YouTube clips. It's amazing. I'm on an airplane! And then it breaks down. And they apologize, the Internet's not working. And the guy next to me goes, 'This is bullshit.' I mean, how quickly does the world owe him something that he knew existed only 10 seconds ago?" ▶ this video
