Argument Clinic

comedy · general · evergreen · 2023–2025 on HN
The classic Monty Python sketch in which a man visits an Argument Clinic to buy an argument. It is a wordplay-heavy bit about contradiction versus real argument.
Invoked as a joke whenever online discussions devolve into pointless contradiction or arguing for its own sake.

This reminds me of the "Abuse" room from Monty Python's Argument Clinic [0]. Shirley I'm not the only one. [0] ▶ this video
By all means, please link these (non-)famous places. Social media is so much Argument Clinic[1] crammed into the vastness of cyberspace. [1] ▶ this video
